What we collect

The form on this site asks for five things: your name, your phone number, your email address, your postcode, and the kind of work you need done. That is all we need to work out a price and get back to you.

If you ring instead, we write down whatever you tell us about the job so we can quote it and turn up at the right place.

Like most websites, the server this site runs on keeps standard access logs. Those can include your IP address, your browser type and which pages were requested. We do not use them to identify you.

Why we collect it

To price your job and to contact you about it. That is the purpose. In practice that means ringing or emailing you back, arranging a time to come and look, sending you the quote, and later sorting out anything covered by the warranty on work we have done.

We do not add you to a mailing list off the back of an enquiry.

Who gets to see it

We do. Your details are not sold, rented or traded to anybody, and we do not pass them to marketing lists.

The only others who handle this information are the services that keep the website and our email running, such as our web host and our email provider, and they only handle it in order to provide those services. The other exception is the law: if we were legally required to disclose something, we would have to.

Google reCAPTCHA on the form

The quote form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is what stops it filling up with automated spam. To work out whether you are a person, reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you interact with the page and sends it to Google. Google's privacy policy and terms of service apply to that part.

If you would rather not go through it, ring us on 0449 154 812 and we will take the details over the phone instead.

Cookies, fonts and ad tracking

We do not set cookies to follow you around the internet. Google reCAPTCHA may set one as part of deciding whether the form is being filled in by a person.

The typeface on this site is served by Google Fonts, so your browser requests it from Google when a page loads. Some pages also carry a Google Ads conversion tag, which tells Google that an enquiry came through so we can see which ads are worth paying for. It does not tell us who you are.

How long we keep it

For as long as there is a reason to. Usually that means until the job is finished and the warranty period on it has run out, plus whatever records a business is required to hold on to. When there is no longer a reason to keep something, we get rid of it.

Getting a copy, a correction or a deletion

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Ring 0449 154 812 and say so. We will ask a question or two to make sure you are who you say you are, then deal with it. There is no charge for asking.

There are occasions where we may not be able to delete everything straight away, for example where we are legally required to keep a record of work performed. If that applies we will tell you why.

If you think we have got it wrong

Tell us first, on the number above, and we will try to sort it out. If you are not happy with how we handle your complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the regulator for privacy in Australia.

Changes to this page

If the way we handle any of this changes, we update this page. Whatever is published here is the version that applies.

How to reach us

Ring 0449 154 812. It is the same number as everything else on this site, answered day and night, so you are not being routed into a separate queue for this.
